flicknpress is a WordPress plugin that lets you attach a cropped photo from Flickr right inside your blog post. An example can been seen to the right.
The ability to quickly and easily add a photo or image to a blog post is the one piece of the blogging puzzle that is just not easy for your average user.
With flicknpress, you simply type in a keyword or phrase and hit “Search” and then choose an image from the returned results. The photo you choose is formated, with attribution to the owner, and automatically attached to the top of the blog post you’re working on.

Thanks for the plugin. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to use it. I get the Flicknpress box on the Post page, can search photos etc., but how do I insert them into the post? The only buttons say “Search” and “Remove”, and neither double-clicking nor choosing a photo and saving the post etc. worked.
Once you pick an image from the left box it loads into the box on the right. That image will appear on your post automatically as soon as the post is saved.
Brian, this is a great plugin – easy enough for non-geeks to use and the licence selection is awesome.
I’ve one request, which might be too cumbersome to implement, in which case please ignore it. Could the search be text-based in addition to tag based? I’ve noticed that the formal metadata (ie. tags) aren’t often quite as useful as the text description field.
Not sure if Flickr’s API differentiates between the two, but if it isn’t too much trouble, full text search would be a nice improvement to the plugin’s functionality.
@OlliS I’ve added improving keyword search to the To Do list.
Hi Brian,
nice Plugin and so comfortable. But how can I customize it? How can I get the Flickr image bigger to fit to my site? And how can I edit the position of the caption?
@Thorsten Right now the plugin lacks almost any customization features. Development of flicknpress isn’t exactly a high priority right now for me, but if/when I can fit in the time I’ll be working to add features similar to what you’re asking for.
Great plugin, installed and it works great, thanks
